- "What is your fee?"
I charge a per session fee of $75. I do utilize a sliding scale fee structure which is based on your income if you are not financially able to afford $75 per session. If you feel that you will need a reduced fee we will discuss it during your first session.
If you would like to participate in one of my group sessions the fee is different. Please contact me or click here for more information about my groups.
- "Do you accept insurance?"
Yes, I currently accept BCBS of Tennessee. I am in the Magellan network and will be adding more insurance options in the near future. You may also be able to recieve reimbursement from your insurance carrier at your out of network rate if you have a differenc insurance provider. Summit Counseling is on the panel of a limited number of insurance carriers. However, insurance plans don't always cover therapy for sexual problems. We recommend that you confirm with your insurance company your eligibility for mental health coverage including number of visits allowed, co-pays/deductibles, and the participating providers for your insurance plan. If you have questions regarding the plans accepted by us, please feel free to contact the office receptionist at 423-855-0402 for further information.
- What are your hours?"
I am currently at the office on Monday and Tuesday from 5pm - 7pm and Thursdays at 5pm. You may call the office to schedule an appointment during one of those time slots. If those times do not work for your schedule please contact me to see if an alternative time can be made that works best for both of our schedules. Prior to contacting me about the possibility of scheduling for a different time, please explore all options to try and schedule for one of those slots listed above.
- "How old do I have to be to see you for counseling?"
I typically counsel adults only from the age of 18 on up. I do occasionally see adolescents for counseling starting at age 13 but this depends on the issues they are dealing with and their motivation level. Please contact me if you are or have a teenager from the age of 13-17 and I will let you know if you/they are appropriate for my services.

- "What will happen during the first session?"
The first session will be a time for you and I to talk and discuss your issues and important information about counseling such as informed consent, confidentiality, financial obligations, and your responsibilities as a client. You will have an opportunity to share why you are interested in counseling and to see if we are a good match for each other. Sometimes a counselor and client don't "click" with each other and it will be important to discover this in the first or second session so that a referral can be made should the need arise.

- "Are the counseling sessions confidential?"
They are as confidential as I can make them. We will discuss confidentiality and the limits to confidentiality during our first session together. Please read our informed consent for more information about confidentiality.
- "Are there any Christian Sex Therapists in my area?"
I frequently get questions from people who are looking for someone like myself in the area where they live.
